Six amazing theme parks in Colombia to visit with the family

If you are looking for a place to enjoy an unforgettable experience with your family in Colombia, these theme parks were our best adventures, my children and I had a great time! They are ideal for children of all ages, and here I share with you our recommendations, with what we liked the most and some details that are worth keeping in mind:

Hacienda Nápoles Theme Park

Hacienda Nápoles, located in the municipality of Puerto Triunfo, Antioquia, is a unique destination that combines adventure, nature, and culture. At its Wildlife Sanctuary, you can meet Vanessa, the ranch’s famous hippopotamus, while at the Hippopotamus Park and the Great African Savannah, you can observe animals such as giraffes, zebras, and antelopes in environments that recreate their natural habitats. It also has water attractions with pools and slides, a Jurassic Park with animatronic dinosaurs, and an African Museum that pays tribute to African culture.

What we liked most: The incredible variety of animals and the water areas with slides for everyone.
To keep in mind: Be prepared for long walks and bring sunscreen, the sun can be strong!

Parque del Café – Coffee Park

Located in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Montenegro, Quindío, just 20 minutes from Armenia, the Parque del Café – Coffee Park is an ideal place to experience the coffee tradition in the heart of this region. This theme park has more than 40 attractions, including exciting roller coasters, water areas, and themed spaces that combine nature and culture. Visitors can enjoy two cable cars with panoramic views, explore the local vegetation, and learn about the coffee process. In addition, there are food stalls that offer delicacies complemented by coffee and shows that celebrate Colombian folklore, making this park an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

What we liked most: The mechanical attractions, the views of the mountains, and the tours that teach about coffee.
To keep in mind: Arrive early to avoid the lines and check the weather, rain can interrupt some activities!

Jaime Duque Park

Jaime Duque Park, located in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, just a few minutes from Bogotá, is a destination that combines entertainment, culture and learning. This park has an impressive replica of the wonders of the world, a zoo with various animal species, and areas dedicated to history and culture. Among its main attractions are the giant map of Colombia, the Aerospace Museum and the Wakatá Biopark, where visitors can learn about the country’s fauna and flora. In addition, the park offers recreational spaces such as gardens, lakes and picnic areas, creating an enriching experience for the whole family.

What we liked most: The cultural exhibits, the zoo and the replica of the wonders of the world, which delight both adults and children.
To keep in mind: It is a large park, so plan your route well to see the main things without getting too tired.

La Montaña La Mano Park – The Mountain Park The Hand

La Mano Mountain Park, in Gigante, Huila, is a natural destination full of color, adventure and breathtaking views. It offers activities such as hiking, photos in unique spots, dance, theater and music shows, as well as a famous swing with wings and dreamcatchers to capture unforgettable moments. Among the adrenaline experiences, the rainbow slide stands out, as well as helicopter and paragliding rides. It is a place full of nature, color and magic, perfect for an unforgettable adventure in Huila.

What we liked most: The views from “la mano”, rainbow slide and the hiking areas, perfect for an adventure in nature.
To keep in mind: Access can be steep in some parts, so wear comfortable shoes!

Chicamocha National Park

Chicamocha National Park, located at kilometer 54 on the road between Bucaramanga and San Gil, offers a unique experience by allowing visitors to cross the impressive Chicamocha Canyon on a 6.3-kilometer cable car ride. Among its attractions are towering, buggies, cable flying, an extreme swing, 4D cinema, Paco’s Farm, the Guane Museum and adventure options such as paragliding. In addition, the water park is great. It is a destination that mixes nature, culture and adrenaline in a spectacular mountain landscape.

What we liked most: The cable car ride through the Chicamocha Canyon offers spectacular views, and the variety of activities such as the extreme swing and 4D cinema keep the adrenaline pumping.

To keep in mind: The park is 50 minutes from Bucaramanga, so it is advisable to plan your trip well. In addition, some activities require advance reservations, and it is good to wear comfortable shoes to enjoy the walks.

Caribe Aventura

Caribe Aventura is an exciting water park located in Piojó between Barranquilla and Cartagena. This park is ideal for enjoying a fun day with the family, as it has various water attractions, pools, slides and recreation areas for all ages.

What we liked most: The Totumo volcano slide and water attractions, such as the wave pool.

To keep in mind: It is recommended to bring sunscreen and comfortable swimwear, preferably one that fits you tightly, to avoid any inconvenience on the slides.
