What to do in Barranquilla in one day?

A Day in Barranquilla: The Coolest Plan You Can Do!

If you only have one day to enjoy Barranquilla, get ready because I’m going to put together a plan that is pure enjoyment, full of flavor and with all the coastal flow that characterizes us. Here we go!

Breakfast at Narcobollo: The Taste of the Coast

You can’t start the day without a good breakfast. At Narcobollo, you’ll find those fried foods that are pure delight. Get a clean bun, a nice golden egg arepa and, to top it off, a crispy chicharrón that will make you close your eyes because it’s so good. That’s starting off on the right foot!

Kayaking in the Mallorquin Ecopark

With a full belly, you head straight to the Mallorquín Ecopark. Here you rent a kayak and set off to explore the Ciénaga, surrounded by pure nature and fresh air. This is the perfect plan to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city and connect with the magic of Barranquilla.

Raspao to cool off

After all that rowing, you need a raspao to cool off. Find that vendor with his colorful cart and ask for a nice cold one. There is little good stuff, so enjoy it and recharge yourself for what comes next.

Photo in the Ventana del Mundo – Window to the World

Now, you go to the Ventana del Mundo, one of the most iconic places in La Arenosa. Here, you take a really cool photo that says “I was in Barranquilla!” Because if there’s no photo, there’s no proof.

Lunch at Las Flores: Fried Mojarra to Eat and Enjoy

At lunchtime, head to Las Flores, where a fried mojarra with patacón awaits you, which will make you sigh. There’s nothing like that taste of the sea to fill the soul. And, obviously, everything is accompanied by a very cold coconut lemonade.

Tour of El Prado, the Carnival Museum and the Graffiti of Barrio Abajo

With lunch in your stomach, you have to walk a little to digest it. Walk through the streets of El Prado, admire those old houses full of history, and don’t forget to go into the Carnival Museum (although be careful, it’s closed on Mondays). Afterwards, continue to the graffiti of Barrio Abajo. Here, urban art tells you the story of our people, our carnivals, our life.

Sunset on the Malecón: Scooter and Good Vibes

Around 4pm, you head to the Malecón. Here, with your feet already tired from all the jogging, you rent a scooter and ride from the Golden Gate to the Shark’s Fin. Don’t forget to stop at the Shakira statue for that selfie that you can’t miss. The sunset on the river is a spectacle that will leave you speechless.
