Baranoa is a Colombian municipality in the Department of Atlantico. It is located on the Caribbean coast, north of the departmental capital Barranquilla. The municipality covers an area of 593 km² and includes rural and urban areas. It limits to the north by the municipality of Soledad and to the south by the municipality of Malambo.

Baranoa is well known for its traditional Carnival celebrations, which take place every year in February, its gastronomic offer, tourist sites, festivals, and celebrations.

Loa Of The Holy Kings

In Baranoa, in the Plazoleta Manuel Patrocinio Algarín, a cultural and religious event is held every January 6. The Loa de Los Santos Reyes Magos is a centuries-old tradition with more than 140 years of interrupted performance. With the participation of artists, musicians and actors, this event is promoted nationally and attracts many tourists to the municipality. La Loa (veneration and praise) is a theatrical dramatization that narrates the meeting of the three wise men with Herod and the subsequent search for the baby Jesus guided by the star.

Banda de Baranoa

The Baranoa Music Band Foundation is a cultural organization with about 600 members, children, and young people from the municipality of Baranoa. The Band is recognized for the quality of its musical performances, costumes, and choreography. Their presentations in the national and international territory are a success, extolling the musical wealth of our country. For 26 years, the Baranoa Band has represented an opportunity for growth and development for young people and a source of pride for the Caribbean region.
